It’s been one month since ‘Doctor Stranger’ ended. What have you been doing in this time?
I’ve spent most of my time in bed. For the whole week, I just watched TV in bed, ordered and ate delivery food, then fell back and slept again — it is almost to the level where you would say, “Not even an unemployed slacker would do this.” Besides the occasional times when I had schedules, I would even give up on washing up or shaving… I actually look better than expected with stubble. (laughs) I left the house for the first time in a long time for this interview; it’s refreshing.
It’s your first time challenging a ‘one-top main lead drama’. What are your feelings behind seeing Park Hoon away?
It’s like a painful finger*. There has never been a drama for which I prepared as much as I did for this one; or had as much ambition to do well. Starting from last October, I carried the script around with me everywhere. I wanted to show many sides of Park Hoon, but it seems I was not able to convey his charisma as much as I wanted, it’s a shame.* he has used this term to describe Park Hoon on SNS before, basically like a child that his/her parent would particularly worry about
It seems that your achievements in the movie industry are a little lacking compared to that in television.
Although it would be nice if my films did well also, I would prefer to pick popular works for dramas and more challenging roles for movies. For movies, the range of acting needed is quite broad, no? My ultimate goal is to be recognized as a movie actor, so I will continue to challenge myself in the future.
Aren’t you famous for having great social connections? You have no friends? I can’t believe it!
Just a few days ago, since I was tired from staying at home all day, so I just left the house before even securing a person to have coffee with. But then I flipped through my contact list and found that there is no one I can ask out. Then I recalled my company’s representative, so we just met and chatted for 40 minutes then went back home. When I told Sora about this on the phone that night, she said I was so pitiful and told me to hang out with her when I’m bored. That’s why we’re having dinner later. This is how I live. (laughs)
Besides acting, is there anything else you want to do in life?
I actually gave this a lot of thought: what can I do besides this? But nothing came to mind. From now on, I should take rests from time to time, but I find that I don’t know what to do when I am resting. It makes me a bit flustered.
You actually look a bit down right now.
My feelings are a bit unsettled and unstable these days, it’s been like this since the second half of ‘Doctor Stranger’. It’s the first time I felt that acting could be so unfamiliar and scary. Even if it was the crew I meet every day, I would feel uncomfortable acting in front of them. Seems like I am going through a slump psychologically. But a few days ago, when I chatted with Sora on the phone, she said something to me.
What did she say?
She said that your life as an actor is important but it is more crucial that you are happy as a person. I never thought about this. At first, I only acted because I loved it, but somehow, after a certain moment, it had become a stressful kind of work. That’s why I needed a break, which is what I am doing now.
When you are surrounded by negative media attention, what do you do?
I just sit at home, feeling depressed. Since there’s nothing I can do, right? To be honest, I’m not the type to get into trouble, and I try so hard to avoid mistakes even in the smallest thing. Because I had a promise with my fans; I hope that they can continue to believe in me in the future.
How do you want the public to think of you?
My ultimate goal is to be viewed as an actor. I don’t know how to do it though. Working hard on acting is a way to achieve that, but since last year, I was in a number of different works which caused me to think if I was over-stretching myself. On the other hadn I still want to challenge lots of different roles; it’s a conundrum.
Can you describe your life in the future for us?
I believe my acting will get better with each upcoming project. What I am most concerned for is not how I can live as an entertainer, but how to live more happily as a normal person, Lee Jong Suk. Even if it’s a little late, I’ve got to get a hobby or two

Kang
Sora's uniquely fresh and lively charm. Caught the absolute support of
male fans when she showed her acting in the recently ended Dr Stranger
SBS drama.
First
obtained more than 7 million viewers for the movie Sunny and caught the
attention of viewers as the teenage Ha Chun Hwa. Later through Drean
High 2, Ugly Alert, the movie My Paparoti etc built up her acting

Q: Is your injury OK ? Your fans were very worried.
A:
I am fine now, When found out fans were worried, went to fanclub to
explain that not serious and not to worry. It is not serious matter but
everyone so concerned that I was a bit overwhelmed.
Q:What are your thoughts on the finale of Dr Stranger
A:
Immediately after Dr Stranger ended, will have empty feeling. Now my
mood is back to the normal daily routine. But the impact of the drama it
seems have not subsided. I really thank the viewers for their love
during this time.Let Oh Soo Hyun able to beautifully presented this character to everyone. I had a happy time during the filming. Thank You.
Q: Are you satisfied with the ending of Dr Stranger ?
A:
At the beginning, I felt Dr Stranger will have happy ending. In the end
it was a happy ending so I am satisfied. Because at the end I could
appear beautifully so I am satisfied
Q: Any regrets that the ratings were not as initially expected?
A:
Dr Stranger had complex themes, Within a limited 20 episodes,there are
too many things to deal with.I am not too clear about the specifics. I
am not the type that only concern about ratings. Even though it is
disappointing ratings. But in the end , contented that it is able to be
No 1 drama in that time slot.
Q: What is the most difficult part of Dr Stranger?
A:
Before the middle part, there was no problem. After that Oh Soo Hyun's
heart started to waver. The plots also started to get complicated. Had
to put in effort to understand my character and the central theme of the
drama, that was difficult. Oh Soo Hyun always kept in the dark about
things, and always crying. My personal character is quite different from
Oh Soo Hyun. At first was quite difficult to understand her, so was
quite hard. Of course, later was able to merge with the character and
successfully complete the filming.
Q: Lee Jong Suk , Park Hae Jin and Jin Se Yeon. What are their acting strengths ?
A : It
was good feeling to be able to work with your peers. Had most scenes
with Lee Jong Suk. We are the same age , always joking with each other,
get along very well. Only some scenes with PHJ were on good terms. The
rest were quarrelling and conflict scenes. Due to my personal
circumstances, during the filming, because of the character's emotional
scenes, that was not easy.Did not have many emotional scenes with JSY.
(acting strengths ? )
Firstly
JSY is the most calm and clear. Sometimes I would think : How can she
stay so calm ?" Because of the nature of TV dramas and how scripts are
released, things are quite urgent and the shooting can be hard. But JSY
will never show that kind of look (?) Her greatest strength is her
strong sense of responsibility.
LJS
gives you the feeling of a very good friend. Very smart. Able to
immerse in the character. Could be he has watched a lot of dramas , able
to understand what the viewers enjoy.
PHJ
is the most experienced among the 4 of us. Very stable. No matter what
situations, will also not affect his acting performance. Really
fantastic.
Q: What are the standards for selecting your projects ? Is it your own standards ?
A :Definitely to look at the summary, after that also think about other things.In fact,
if the story is not interesting, other things doesn't matter. Reading
the summary you will get the story's main focus. It must give you a
feeling like you want to exclaim " hoo" When I read the summary for Dr
Stranger, I had that feeling.
Q: Your reason for choosing Misaeng" ?
A:
When I read the summary, had that feeling of "Hoo". When filming Ugly
Alert, saw the webtoon. It was really interesting. At that time,even
thought that if adapted as a TV drama will be very difficult.Who will act ? In the end, I am acting . Really was a shock .
Q: What king of role is Misaeng's An Youngi ?
A
:Should be a little different from the original webtoon. Misaeng's An
Youngi is a really great character. I always think " Really have such a
person ? " A perfect character without any weakness.
An
Youngi will also have painful past. Similar to Dr Stranger's Oh Soo
Hyun. OSH will allow her emotions to surface. But An Youngi will not let
her feelings show. i think she will be a much more mature character
than OSH. Of course there will also be a difference in status and
wealth.
Q: After your debut, what is your most memorable work ?
A:
Definitely Sunny. Even if there are other works, this answer will not
change. This is the work that got KSR the actress noticed by the public.
More so because, while shooting this movie, more than using the mind,
it is using a pure/sincere heart to participate, that why it left deep
impression.
Q: Your co star Shin Eun Kyung, hot topic because of her acting ?
A: SEK's acting skill has already been shining bright even before this. I feel that it is a bit late to find that out now.In fact,
SEY has very rich acting experience. She is an acting senior. When
shooting Sunny, can feel her excellent acting skill. Of course also
played together with acting senior while filming.
Q: Have a lover ? If not,what kind of love relationship would you like to be in ?
A: I am single. Really want to date. Want to have a simple and unpretentious love relationship.
Q: What kind of actor do you want to be remembered?
Kang Sora: < Dr Stranger > Oh Soo Hyun is completely different from me.
My first impression of KSR must go
back to last year December.Then , I was interviewing SBS daily drama Ugly
Alert's Im Ju Hwan. At that time, did slightly mention his co star KSR. At that
time, already had feeling that KSR is a very well self-managed and knowlegeable
actor. In another words, maybe not 100% accurate. Not to say that before she is
not well self-managed or not intelligent. But she has a charm that is different
from what this reporter imagined.
When having a meal with friends, she
hate the most these words : Anything will do ". If she likes a guy, will
actively pursue. Her character that clearly distinguish love and hate, that is
very charming. When talking about the recent traffic incident KSR : Then, just
opened my eyes to look,and realised the car was up the pavement(?).KSR spoke as
if this incident never happened and changed topic. At that time , I felt she
was very calm.
This is the KSR acted in Dr Stranger.
Between 2 male leads Park hoon (Lee Jong Suk) and Han Jae Joon ( Park Hae
Jin),uncertain and wavering , the role of Dr Oh Soo Hyun. I was especially curious
about her inner feelings which was not very different from what this reporter
thought.

While acting as Oh Soo Hyun, was quite troubled.
OSH,working
as a doctor in MyungWoo, OSH was disappointed with HJJ who secretly planned
revenge. She could not understand HJJ's inner feelings. At this time, she
noticed Park Hoon from North Korea. The more she understand him, the more she
realised another side to him. Slowly start to pay attention to him. From many
points of view, OSH is a complex character.
KSR
: While acting as OSH, did encounter a period of confusion.Especially when it
come to Park Hoon's charm. KSR felt a very different feeling.Using this way to
treat my man is a first for me. At the start, just treat him like a normal guy.
But through much interaction and different incidents. He is no longer just a
man from north korea, But a highly skilled north korean doctor. Even as I stand
in OSH's shoes,will also feel surprised.
In
reality, I don't like that kind of man who hide many things. In this sense Park
Hoon is really a mysterious man. On the other hand, often hear saying that in
drama , OSH is too uncertain and wavering, that it doesn't make sense. To
some extent, KSR agreed with this opinion.
KSR
: Really experienced something totally different from my own feelings. I cannot
understand OSH's attitude of hesitation. While filming, have to live the role
of OSH so there were moments became senstitive. If I were to be in OSH's
position, will also choose HJJ.
From
OSH's postion, PH and HJJ are too extreme. So it was really difficult. So If I
were OSH, I would confess to HJJ. Because I can understand HJJ's feelings. From
reality point of view, liking PH will result in confusion.
At
the end of Dr Stranger,what did KSR reaped as an actress. The answer: Explosive
strength. Even though the script was hurried, but it is something i have not
experienced before. Having to deal with the wavering emotions of OSH, to me is
another kind of experience. Previously played mostly straight forward, courageously
forward characters.
Really
honest. During the interview KSR did not hesitate to my questions but answered
smoothly.

In
the drama, KSR will play An Youngi, potray the image of female employee working

: An Youngi's job scope, she will do to the best of her ability and achieve
near perfection.She works in a trading firm. Style of clothing will be
serious/solemn and the atmosphere is intense. I am curious in this male
dominated environment, how can a female employee with excellent ability
survive. In reality I do not have workplace experience. So I am
very curious about office work, after office hours and matters relating to
office work and life. In Misaeng, my curiosity should have answers. Before this
have also hope to play such a character.

reason for choosing this project: When choosing a character,besides choosing
those that I can act well, I will also choose a female character that I want to
become.

: I am just an ordinary student. What did Ju Hwan Oppa say about me ? But my
director dream is true. After watching a musical ( Phantom of Opera ?) fell in
love with the performing arts. Even join drama group. Of course parents
strongly objected then. My school results were average. But parents hope i can
enroll in foreign language school. If cannot get into university, want to let
me continue on their family business. Finally, ignore their objections and
enrolled in drama department to continue my director dream. But this dream did not
materialize.
At
filming, when watching the director. I feel it is really tough. Actors only
need to focus on their role. But the director has to worry about every detail
starting from casting.
I
have no regrets not being able to be a director. I want to show myself as an
actress.

: Having meals with friends, while deciding on menu, don't like people who say
"anything will do". Choosing boyfriend, if he has such a character,

In
reality, I am the opposite of OSH. OSH is the undecided/wavering kind. I cannot
accept or understand her so this period of filming , became quite sensitive
because cannot agree with the character.

In recently finished SBS Mon-Tue drama 'Doctor Stranger', Actress Kang Sora (24) becomes slimmer from before. Beside well-defined figure, well-developed body through practicing ballet, and rising beauty, Kang Sora also have displayed more mature acting ability. Kang Sora played Oh Soo Hyun character, the daughter of Myeong Woo University Hospital' director. Her character has one-sided love toward Park Hoon (Lee Jong Suk), who only looks at one woman, and in the end she ended together with Han Jae Joon (Park Hae Jin). Eventhough she is an intense character inside and has strong pride, she quivered because of love, gave off the feminine charm.

Soo Hyun is more stubborn (perfectionist), meanwhile I'm more friendly. In the
process of one-sided love toward Park Hoon, she is usually calm and looks
quiet, but now like a child who was at a loss what to do. If the other party
doesn't return my feeling, I will give up immediately and resolve my feeling
alone."
In movie 'Sunny' 2011, through young
Chun Hwa character who gave strong impression, she played student's role who
used to wear school uniform all the while. Then since her previous drama 'Ugly
Alert', she has been performing as a genuine adult.
"I'm glad I could take off the
uniform. It's more comfortable if my character has the close age with mine. For
the time being, I have many baby' fats in my face. My parent are very
disappointed. In my mom' 60th birthday, my face was very chubby so my photos
didn't come out well. Fortunately in Doctor Stranger, the film director put a
lot of attention and focused on taking good angles so I could be looked good at
screen." Kang Sora laughed.

site, my name and also my school days' photos when I was chubby are still being
linked with 'diet' and 'menu' words so I feel embarrased. "I'm suprised
with 6 years diet issue. Menu is changing too, depends on occasion. The foods
that I want to eat are different everyday so my meal menu is changing too for
time to time. I have lost weight during 'Doctor Stranger'. I have heard that
I'm looked more feminine. That's maybe because before shooting I often practice
ballet. Exercise with rapid motion (cardio exercise?) is not suitable with me.
I don't like the exercise that is simple and repetitive. Ballet has various
movements and uses song. Without realizing, ballet has become part of my life.
I become more 'woman' and when I wear tight clothes like leotard, it's feel
like ballerina and when I wear dress, I feel I'm more feminine."
Lately, when she was on the way to
ending celebration party of Doctor Stranger, she got a minor collision
(accident). She had to wear gips on her neck. "It's only minor accident.
Because of Doctor Stranger movie' shooting, I wore removable gips. I'm suprised
when it turned out be big accident in news." She said.
She is attracted with professional
and supervisor woman character who has distinct charm. "I want to be a
role model of woman. I like Chun Hwa character, the charismatic leader of the
youngsters in 'Sunny'. I'm attracted to the character who becomes a woman's
role model." Her eyes twinkled.
In her next project tvN drama
"Misaeng" that originally from popular webtoon, she gets An Yeong~ie
character, new employer who is proud of her outstanding job performance,
introducing the reversal charm. The shooting is scheduled from August. So from
now, she tries to experience working life and vertical relationship (upper and
lower classes relationship) in the company. She plans to prepare for the drama
with practicing excel etc, document writing, service job (copying /
reproduction work), making coffee, and so on.
Kang Sora " Debut for 6 years, I thought I am already satisfied"
A woman's transformation is innocent. Shook off the high school girl image. Transformed to a mature adult. Yet there is no awkward feeling. We are talking about Kang Sora.
After conclusion of SBS <Dr Stranger>, reporter and KSR sat down together. KSR in the drama played thoracic surgeon Oh Soo Hyun. KSR lived the character of OSH for about 3 months. In that short period of time, the significance is great. About the feelings on the ending " Now, starting to find back the vitality. Although during the filming, did not have feeling, but only after the ending,then the tension was released. " Through keeping a diary,got a lot of help on acting skill"
KSR through Dr Stranger displayed steady adult acting. OSH's performance was both feminine and showed a leading acting skill,and took control of the TV stage. And the acting of tears , that ability to interpret the flowing tears was showed out. KSR's crying acting skills also became a big discussion topic.
" When got the script, felt that because of birth mother wept a lot of tears. felt that the birth mother she once lived with will not die.Tried hard not to have contact with her. The emotions that she tried so hard to suppressed finally exploded. Especially since she was coldly treated by the mother she respected , felt very weary. No matter how you see it, OSH 's life was not easy. All the complains she has of having to survive in her father's family, she passed on to her mother. So in this way, naturally the tears flowed."
Especially KSR's understanding of the character was more outstanding than anyone else, am very curious about this secret. KSR's focus on the script also has own secret. Listen to KSR's saying, you will feel that OSH character is not that easily born.
"Just repeatedly read the script. Until now, for this character, I took the most time to prepare.About 4 to 5 months. While reading the script, will write down a diary concerning OSH. Like 'making Kimchi with Mum' 'doctor intern is very tiring' 'did something wrong today'. In OSH's shoes, wrote the diary. This method, I saw in the movie <The Dark Knight>. First time using this diary method. It is of some help to the script , things which are outside of the script, thinking back, felt it has been a great help. For next project, also plan to use this method.
< Lee Jong Suk and Park Hae Jin , mutually combine together will be good >
KSR and LJS, PHJ's acting, their mutual understanding, matching and cooperation pushed forward the plot's development. Much of the acting was cooperating with LJS and PHJ. KSR also in the middle of romance, what is the feeling ?
"Firstly,acting with same age actors, can be a bit noisy, a lot to talk about, also will do some impromptu performance. The staff will also understand. With Han Jae Joon, even though are lovers, but only outwardly. Gives people a feeling of gentleman's romantic relationship. No strong feeling. With Park Hoon, is more easy going. A lot of bickering scenes. The 2 of them have completely different image. So every time when acting, the feeling is different. This person is interesting in this way, and acting with this person is very serious. If have to choose the ideal type between the 2 of them, each take half will be fine. Park Hoon's humour and concern for his patients and Han Jae Joon's steadiness and the sense of security he gives you.
Besides the same age LJS, PHJ, with senior actor Jeon kuk Hwan , the father daughter relationship also match well. JKH play the ambitious Myung Woo director Oh Joon Kyu. With OJK, have scenes of opposition,contradicting father and daughter, their acting gives a feeling of reality.
"Actually, acting with seniors gives a feeling of security. Will have ' leave it to you will be fine ' this kind of thought. Have a lot of argument scenes with JKH, really full of charm. "Since debut already more than 5 years,thought I would already be satisfied. But now, start to have feeling of confusion. Feels like I am standing on the starting line. After 6 years, maybe the way looking at scripts will change. But KSR emphasize that she has not changed. At same time frankly confided her thoughts about her performing path. She is easy going and have charismatic personality
"Before , when looking at projects will be similar. Like beautiful female roles. The purpose is also very clear. Know exactly what I want. The type of project I want to do is this kind, Also want to try good quality work. But want to know when this luck will come. Actors cannot what they want to do , will be able to do it. Q: Are you satisfied with 'Dr. Stranger'?
KSR: There are several things that I'm satisfied with more than I expected and there's also a certain thing that I'm dissatisfied with. I think my character stood out in that drama and it wasn't a common character but a unique character instead. If there's the part that I feel discontented with is that, I personally wish that I could show more of Oh Soo Hyun's image/persona as doctor. I felt a little bit wistful about that.
Q: You received many favorable reviews for your emotion-filled acting and was it difficult to act out the parts where you need to shed tears? And which emotional scene was the hardest for you to express the required feeling?
KSR: I didn't feel burden to act out the parts where I need to shed tears. It's because I tried not to think that certain parts or scenes are different and special than the others. Because the scene is very very emotional, you could go in the wrong direction and you may not be able to have empathy with the character you play. But it was fortunate that the character managed to gain sympathy from the audience.
Q: What was the most difficult scene in filming for 'Doctor Stranger'?
KSR: Generally, all scenes are physically hard. But acting-wise, if Oh Soo Hyun was having a hard time, I was having hard time too and when she was happy, I felt happy too. My mood and feeling was usually influenced by Oh Soo Hyun character. I'm worried if this will continue for a long time. And since the drama has ended, I think I should take a trip somewhere to refresh & recharge myself.
Q: If you have to choose between Lee Jong Suk and Park Hae Jin?
KSR: Neither of them. (She said this unhesitatingly) Both are too extreme (in terms of personality). As a woman, I think both of them are a difficult partner to deal with. I won't even recommend my friend to date them. Because (personality-wise) they have no 'moderation', I think it would be hard and tiring to deal with such men. (**Hmm... I think she referred to Lee Jong Suk's and Park Hae Jin's characters in the drama here..Don't you think??)
Kang Sora: “It Was Hard to Accept Lee Jong Suk’s Aegyo”
"I am friends with Jongsuk now. He’s very friendly and his aegyo is really good. Can you imagine that he calls Lee Boyoung-sunbae "Boyoung jjang!"? I care about Soo Hyun character a lot. at first, I thought I must understand everything that related with direction, but because I thought too much by myself, I became too busy with work. Kang Sora prepared a lot not only for Oh Soo Hyun character but also for medical genre. She has many hopes in thorax surgeon character. She said “ 10 years later I want to act in medical drama again. That time, I want to become internist or neurologist. For doctor character, I studied a lot and did many training directly. I prefer the one who can’t do something then the one who does something with half-hearted.”
Kang Sora got compliment for her crying acting. About how work offers for her are never stop eventhough there is a time when she got the critics. “I don’t have big power or authority. I think it’s because of luck 98%, talent 1%, effort 1%. When debut too, I have thought that I got the chance because the I got the good luck. When I have audition there is always the feeling I have ruined it and I would fail, but when it turned out that I made it so I’m so grateful.”
“Originally, I want to study about movie directing. When junior high school time, I went to watch “Phantom of the Opera” performance. I want to study directing of musical stage art. When I’m an university student, I thought I will get good experience if I can participate in a audition, so I attended an audition and have my debut. I didn’t think I would become an actress before but now I feel that's not bad idea. Until now, I always want to act well. And I also want to become a movie director later. recent finished SBS Mon-Tue drama "Doctor Stranger", Kang Sora played
Oh Soo Hyun, the heiress of Myeong Woo University Hospital who looks
like she has everything, but actually she has complex relationship with
family that gave her hurtful feeling. Oh Soo Hyun is the character who
has one-sided love toward Park Hoon that made her suffering a broken
heart.
In recent interview with Newsen, Kang
Sora talked about Oh Soo Hyun character's background, the reason why Oh
Soo Hyun fell in love with Park Hoon, and the related things about Oh
Soo Hyun in drama.

Sora said "Oh Soo Hyun has an irony of fate. She isn't being adopted in
the early of her life or being taken away when she is still very young.
She experienced all those things when she could understand the
situation already. Her dad, whom she hasn't known about yet, existed and
took lead in her life. She must live in his house. That house didn't
give a warm feeling at all. And her mother gave her a cold shoulder.
Since young, she has lived with "being isolated" feeling. She is rich
and lives in luxury but she couldn't breath comfortably."
"She
had wariness feeling toward other people. But after she met Park Hoon
who hasn't ulterior motive toward her, she is attracted to him. He
doesn't approach her because her position and he doesn't have hidden

A: As it all are the same career as actors I had fun shooting. Lee Jongsuk also very did well with his character Park Hoon. Actually I didn't realize Park Hoon character was that charming. Hoon (acted by Lee Jong Seok) has been single-mindedly loving only one
person – Song Jae Hee (acted by Jin Se Yeon). 'There is only one person

the type who will give my everything. Even though love and material
goods are not the same, if I like something I will go totally in to it.
If someone I like appears, my eyes will also probably be all focused on
that person. What Jae Hee couldn’t understand in the drama is when she
asked Soo Hyun ‘Don’t you like Hoon? When I go to Japan you will know so
please wait patiently.’ Also the way of pushing Hoon away felt
depressing. Of course Jae Hee is risking her life and loving Hoon, so it
is understandable why she wants to leave Hoon. If it’s the real me? I
will do the mission together with Hoon.”
Jin Se Yeon said that her ideal type is “Someone who only looks at me”.

now the roles I have acted are like in Bridal Mask where my lover is
always loving me. I actually like the type who will care for me even if

For an innocent 21 year old like Jin Se Yeon, is marriage a reality or a romance and what does marriage mean to her? “I
would like to get married. If my husband is my first love that will be

Jin Se Yeon Felt Lonely as She Watched Lee Jong Suk and Kang Sora in ‘Doctor Stranger’
Jin Se Yeon recently acted as ‘Song Jae Hee’ in Doctor Stranger, the first love of ‘Park Hoon’ (Lee Jong Suk). Park Hoon and Song Jae Hee loved each other to death but during Song Jae Hee’s absence, Park Hoon became close friends with ‘Oh Soo Hyun’ (Kang Sora), who later fell in love with him.
In the drama, Song Jae Hee (who later uses the name Han Seung Hee) tries to let go of Park Hoon, urging him to go to Oh Soo Hyun.
In a recent interview with Newsen, Jin Se Yeon said, “I felt really frustrated. I thought if she was a bit more honest with her feelings, she could talk with Park Hoon. I think that’s why many people sympathized with Seung Hee.”
Jin Se Yeon said, “I understand certain things. I think she did that because Park Hoon seemed to smile a lot more and have more fun when he’s with Soo Hyun. And she felt like Park Hoon would be in danger or die if he was with her so that’s why she tried to leave him.”

About her acting career, Jin Se Yeon said, “I began by filming a commercial coincidentally. I really didn’t know that I would come this far at that time. I never thought that I would do well but I was enjoying it and felt like I could do it. My mom also told me, ‘You’re not complaining or struggling, I think you like this.’ I was just enjoying myself and came this far.”
Lee Jong Suk recovers from swine flu and flies to Hungary to film 'Doctor Stranger'
The drama's rep told Star News on March 4, "Lee
Jong Suk has recovered. He is working hard to carry on filming in the
best condition... Lee Jong Suk entered his first filming on February 28.
It went well without any difficulties. We think it will meet the
expectations of the many [fans who are anticipating it]."
His agency Wellmade StarM also stated, "Lee
Jong Suk has recovered his health and has returned to his work
overseas. Through this production, he will show a different charm from
what was shown on 'I Hear Your Voice'. As he's doing his best, it will be a good production. We ask for a lot of support."
Prior to his first filming, Lee Jong Suk previously attended the entrance ceremony for new students at Konkuk University's New Millennium Hall on February 26. Lee Jong Suk is currently an enrolled student of class 11 at the university. He departed to Hungary on the morning of the 4th to film on location for the drama.

variety talks show "Radio Star", and member Yuri talked about being

Jong Suk, he shocked me so much when he suddenly bit me."
She continued, "I thought, 'What planet did he come from?'. I felt like he was an alien for having such a weird quirk, but I realized that it was his unique way of befriending people."

Channel SBS' new drama, 'Doctor Outsider', will premiere on April 28th, and castings for the drama were recently complete.
Doctor Outsider' will show a story of a North Korean refugee doctor
named Park Hoon(Lee Jong Seok) and a South Korean doctor named Han Jae
Joon(Park Hae Jin) working on a secret duty together.
First of all, Lee Jong Seok will cast as a North Korean doctor named Park Hoon. Park Hoon works to earn money so that he can find his lost first love, Song Jae Hee(Jin Se Yeon).
On the other hand, Park Hae Jin is going to cast as a charismatic South Korean doctor named Han Jae Joon, who graduated from Harvard University.
The drama is going to be a bit more special to Jin Se Yeon, because for the first time in her career, she is going to cast as two different characters, a lovely North Korean girl named Song Jae Hee and a mysterious female doctor named Han Seung Hee.
Furthermore, Kang So Ra is going to cast as Oh Soo Hyun, who is a daughter of the head of Myungwoo University Hospital, and a talented female doctor.
The production agency of 'Doctor Outsider' said, "Production director Jin Hyuk, writer Park Jin Woo, and all of the actors and actresses are doing their best to present a high-quality drama."
The agency also said, "Many drama fans' standards are rising very high these days, and we will do our best to match their taste. Please show a lot of supports."
Meanwhile, 'Doctor Outsider' will premiere on April 28th as the sequel of 'God's gift - 14 Days'.

Among the female actresses who are in their 20s in South Korea, Kang
Sora is one of the most active ladies. From movie "SUNNY", Sora gained
attention of the audience. She accumulated her bright results recently
through "Doctor Stranger".
In the variety programme "We Got Married" broadcasted in 2011, Sora came to the attention of Chinese audience through her virtual marriage with Lee Teuk, leader of Super Junior. Sora impressed the audience with her sincere, bold yet feminine charisma. In reality, Kang Sora stood out from other actresses in Korea by such a unique charisma.
Kang Sora has been busily participated in different projects since her debut. From the title "Busy Actress" given to her by others indirectly revealed her ambitions in performance. Due to the popularity of the original comic, the casting for the drama also became a great concern. Many fans of the comic casted high expectations when it was confirmed that Kang Sora and Lim Siwan of ZE:A were the leads.
Kang Sora turned into an office lady which she never played before. The role is a cool OL with excellent ability but poor interpersonal skills.
In particular, Sora claimed that she is also a fan of the comic and her desire to perfectly present the character "An Young-I". "I will try my best to present the new image of An Young-I which readers are not aware of from the comic. I myself am very excited and have great expectations because I have to give extensive interpretation to the details of the character in the drama", said Sora.

Q: Your excellent performance in "Doctor Stranger" received much attention from the audience. How did you interpret the character of "Oh Soo-Hyun" and where did you put the focus on when playing this role?
A: Oh Soo-Hyun is a lady with dual charisma. She looks strong from the outside but is weak inside; looks mature but is in fact childish; looks like gaining everything but in fact owns nothing; looks like very cool but in fact sentimental. She gained such dual character since she left her mother and began a new life with her father which she could not reveal her true emotions thereafter. I want to demonstrate a role who shields herself with thorns and amour, but take away all these amours after meeting Park Hoon and lives her true self.
Q: Which clips in "Doctor Stranger" were most unforgettable?
A: I would say when Park Hoon lent out his helping hand after being expelled from Han Jae Jun's team. First time ever being recognised by others as a doctor.
Q: You are now shooting "Misaeng". Can you briefly introduce your role?
A: First of all, "Misaeng" may be different from other works that Korean drama fans are familiar with. Audience may echo with the drama because it is close to daily life. It is also a very new approach because the story it reflects is very realistic. If Korean drama is about love stories, especially the love stories between men and women, then "Misaeng" will be about survival stories of people who live in this society. Although the drama touches on matters happened in a trading company, at the end it is a story about human being. I hope the audience an experience the happiness, anger and sadness of Korean salary class and their real lives indirectly from the drama.
The role An Young-I I played in the drama is a perfect yet weird person. Despite she has outstanding abilities among her peers in the new intakes, she prefers working on her own because she is not good at interpersonal skills. She is uncomfortable when working with others as a team. Although An Young-I is not a mean or bad person in quality, obviously she is not on the same channel with others. Through her, you can understand the issues faced by talented female employees in a male dominating trading company.
Q: Do you feel burdened when people placed much concern on the drama since casting because of the popularity if the comic?
A: It is untrue if I said I am not burdened, especially when I am also a big fan of this internet comic. But I am very eager to show the multiple facets of An Young-I which are not shown in the comic. I am worried yet excited because I can give life to the role through so many aspects.
Q: An Young-I impressed readers through her cool image in the original comic. What are your plans to interpret this character?
A: Just like what I have said before, An Young-I is a perfect person only from the work's perspective. I want the audience to have the feeling of "Wow, I really want to be a friend of An Young-I" when they understand her emotions and handling approaches when she met others.

Q: Miss Kang Sora is one of the most successful actress in keeping your perfect body. What efforts have you made for body management?
A: I try not to pressure myself by the need to keep my body shape and I also want to enjoy the process. I have no particular secret. The only secret is to eat appropriately and work out appropriately. This is the simplest yet most difficult rule to abide by. I will try to think a lot of nice things and work out as much as possible.
Q: Who are the most beautiful female and most handsome male according to Miss Kang Sora? What are their respective charisma?
A: It seems that I cannot name a particular example. When shooting "Misaeng", I was enlightened by the idea that regardless the work or the responsibility, the persons who can persist until the end are the most handsome and marvellous. At times when we want to become lazy and turn into a coward unknowingly, I will gain power when looking at people around us.
Q: Among all those who have collaborated with you before, who best matches your ideal type?
A: I don't have any particular ideal type in mind. Only when one gets close and familiar with me, that person's appearance will then enter my eyes. However, as we were all on busy schedules, I didn't get quite close with the actors that I have collaborated with in the past. My ideal type will be that who can match with me and will not get bored even if we do nothing at all.
Q: How do you feel about Lee Jong-suk's choosing you as a brother-like friend in opposite sex in his earlier interview?
A: We talked a lot when shooting "Doctor Stranger". We even arranged to dine and have tea together after the drama ends because the filming was so hectic then. I originally thought it was just sayings and will not come true. I never thought that we really hanged out together. Before we became friends, he was a very handsome actor to me. Although we are at the same age, there are so many aspects that I want to learn from him so I really want to get close to him. I hope our friendship will still continue in future.
Q: Do you have any plans to enter the China market? Many Chinese fans paid much attention to whether you are learning Chinese and the real name authentication of Weibo. Do you have plans to hold overseas fan meetings, or fan meeting in China in future?
A: I am always ready to join the China market if there is good project. There are many outstanding actors and directors whom I want to collaborate with. Of course I am eager to hold fan meeting in China. However, this is not what I myself can plan alone but needs cooperation of many aspects. I will definitely fly over if there is opportunity.
Q: Do you have any plan for joining historical drama or variety programme? Chinese fans are desperate to see Miss Kang Sora in traditional Hanbok (Korean traditional costumes) in drama. In respect of variety programme, audience is longing for your participation in "Running Man".
A: Historical drama is the genre which I always want to challenge myself...but still there are many preparations. Many actors/actresses receive much attention from joining variety programme. I also want to participate in the variety programme that I have cope with. I also love watching "Running Man".
Q: Do you have plan for movie? What movie genre you would like to challenge in future?
A: I don't have any plan for movie at this stage. I am now devoting all myself in the shooting of "Misaeng". If there is chance, I want to shoot a musical love movie like "Begin Again".

Appeared as Ahn Young Yi in tvN′s Misaeng, Kang Sora shared about the 39,000 won dress that she wore to the 2014 MAMA on December 3, during the media day event on December 23 at a cafe in Itaewon.
"During MAMA, I wore the dress without knowing its brand. More than following the trend, I usually wear clothes that fit my body type, so for that ceremony, I chose the dress for that reason," said Kang Sora. "I wore the dress while shooting photos for a soju commercial calendar. Before I wore the dress, the staff members on set were indifferent, but once I wore it, they became focused and even took pictures with their phones. I realized, ′This is it.′ I found the dress′ price through the articles."
Regarding the issue, Kang Sora′s agency rep also talked about the situation. "Just like Kang Sora said, the dress was something that she wore at a regular shooting."
"The concept of the commercial was ′Soju that Becomes Gentle,′ so we chose a dress that focused more on healthy beauty. The reaction from the male staff was so good, so we also thought that the dress was pretty. Then we ended up going to MAMA last minute, so she wore that dress. Ahead of the dress fitting for MAMA, we thought about that dress. Since she would be presenting an award, and not receiving one, we decided to go more casual and chose that outfit."

Q: In Korea, Kang Sora takes care of herself/ her body and being a successful actress. We would like to know how do you take care of yourself/ your body?
A: I try not to put pressure on the body. I do not have anything's special. Just have properly eating , doing an exercise correctly. That's all. This is the easiest way and it's most difficult as well. Well, i always have positive thinking and do a lot of exercise.
Q: Do you have plan to filming a movie? In the future, do you think what role is challenging you and making you want to play?A: I have no plan right now. I use all of my energy to filming this drama. If I have a chance, I wish to play as in "Begin Again" movie which 's related to music and love.
Q: You've been filming with many actors. Who is your ideal type guy?
A: I do not have any ideal guy. I just think that people who have close relationship , will become to be my ideal guy later. Well, it's also hard to having time together because while fliming we really busy. So it is not easy to get close to each other. My ideal is a guy who's very close to me, a person who will do whatever we do and never get to bored with.
Q: In previous interview, Lee Jong Suk chose Kang Sora as best friend of the opposite gender , what do you think about it?
A: During the filming Dr.Stranger , we talked a lot. Also it's quit busy on that time , the we promised to eating and drinking tea together after it ended. I think it's empty plan and i din't even think we could do it. Before we became friends. I think he is a handsome actor. Also we are the same age. There are a lot of things that I learned from him. A: I am always ready to join the China market if there is good project. There are many outstanding actors and directors whom I want to collaborate with. Q: Do you have any plan for joining historical drama or variety programme? Chinese fans are desperate to see Miss Kang Sora in traditional Hanbok (Korean traditional costumes) in drama. In respect of variety programme, audience is longing for your participation in "Running Man".
A: Historical drama is the genre which I always want to challenge myself...but still there are many preparations. Many actors/actresses receive much attention from joining variety programme. I also want to participate in the variety programme that I have cope with. I also love watching "Running Man".
Q: Do you have plan for movie? What movie genre you would like to challenge in future?
A: I don't have any plan for movie at this stage. I am now devoting all myself in the shooting of "Misaeng". If there is chance, I want to shoot a musical love movie like "Begin Again".

Kang Sora Wore Her 39,000 Won Dress to ′MAMA′ Without Knowing the Price

After receiving much attention, Kang Sora talked about her 39,000 won dress that she wore to the MAMA.
Appeared as Ahn Young Yi in tvN′s Misaeng, Kang Sora shared about the 39,000 won dress that she wore to the 2014 MAMA on December 3, during the media day event on December 23 at a cafe in Itaewon.
"During MAMA, I wore the dress without knowing its brand. More than following the trend, I usually wear clothes that fit my body type, so for that ceremony, I chose the dress for that reason," said Kang Sora. "I wore the dress while shooting photos for a soju commercial calendar. Before I wore the dress, the staff members on set were indifferent, but once I wore it, they became focused and even took pictures with their phones. I realized, ′This is it.′ I found the dress′ price through the articles."
Regarding the issue, Kang Sora′s agency rep also talked about the situation. "Just like Kang Sora said, the dress was something that she wore at a regular shooting."

During the 2014 MAMA at the AWE in Hong Kong, Kang Sora caught much attention for wearing the ′H′ brand dress worth 39,000 won on during the red carpet event.
On this day, Kang Sora wore a navy dress and matching heels, making her curves show. Her matching navy shoes were revealed to cost 1,220,000 won.

Q: You've been filming with many actors. Who is your ideal type guy?
A: I do not have any ideal guy. I just think that people who have close relationship , will become to be my ideal guy later. Well, it's also hard to having time together because while fliming we really busy. So it is not easy to get close to each other. My ideal is a guy who's very close to me, a person who will do whatever we do and never get to bored with.
Q: In previous interview, Lee Jong Suk chose Kang Sora as best friend of the opposite gender , what do you think about it?
A: During the filming Dr.Stranger , we talked a lot. Also it's quit busy on that time , the we promised to eating and drinking tea together after it ended. I think it's empty plan and i din't even think we could do it. Before we became friends. I think he is a handsome actor. Also we are the same age. There are a lot of things that I learned from him. Hopefully we are good friends.
